The Town of Alburgh has an immediate opening for a Full-Time position with the Highway Department as the Road Foreman.
The Highway Department Road Foreman (HDRF) is responsible for the management, administration and delivery of all highway programs and services in order to ensure that residents receive effective and appropriate services. The job includes road maintenance, snow plowing, heavy equipment operation and repair, and vehicle maintenance and repair. Applicants must have a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B held for a minimum of 5 years. Applicants must be able to work overtime and be on call during winter months. Equipment repair, and experience as a heavy equipment operator are not required but are desired.

Lister Vacancy
The Listers are the individuals responsible for collecting data on new and improved properties to produce a defensible grand list. They establish the assessed value of all properties, hear grievances of property owners who feel their assessments are inappropriate, and participate in hearings and appeals beyond the grievance level. The Listers meet on an as-needed or by appointment basis rather than on a set schedule. The activities of the Listers are open to the public. One of the most important responsibilities of a lister is to become educated in listing practices and real estate knowledge. The Listers and Assessor inspect new and changed property, compile and analyze sales data, provide the public with assessment information, supply the Department of Property Valuation and Review reports, and perform other miscellaneous duties.
There is (1) one vacancy in the office of the listers. Planning Commission Vacancy
There is (1) one vacancy on the 5-member board. Members are appointed by the selectboard in staggered 2 and 3 year terms. This is a volunteer office supporting the town plan. They make recommendations to the selectboard on development, transportation, beautification, design, business, etc. Meetings are typically once per month.
