Alburgh Planning Commission April 21, 2026 Municipal Office 1 N Main St DRAFT MINUTES Members present: Ashley Bowen, Danielle James Choiniere, Brian Tjelta 7:05pm meeting called to order. > Agenda adjustments: None > Board Reorganization: Brian Tjelta nominated Danielle James Choiniere to continue as chair. Ashley Bowen seconded, all in favor. So voted. Brian Tjelta nominated John Chesarek for vice-chair. Ashley Bowen seconded, all in favor. So voted. Danielle James Choiniere nominated Ashley Bowen for board clerk. Brian Tjelta seconded, all in favor. So voted. > Approval of minutes: Brian Tjelta motioned to approve March minutes. Ashley Bowen 2nd, all in favor. So approved. > Public comment: None. > Old business: - Grants: Alburgh was not chosen for the Vermont Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation FPR grant. Bill Anderson of VT Youth Conservation Corp is meeting John Chesarek on Thursday to walk the proposed trail site and any PC member was welcome to attend. - Signage: The board discussed park sign options, from traditional to multi-use similar to a bench, or even brick oven the community could use. Brainstorming will continue, likely several versions the planning commission board can then present to the selectboard. > Correspondence: None. > Other business: The three members discussed Act 181 which several towns and boards were taking stances on in the form of writing letters for or against. The board was not well-versed in all of the act's features though they generally agreed at least some of its components could place Alburgh residents at a disadvantage. > Adjourn: Danielle moved to adjourn at 7:32pm, all in favor!
