Alburgh Planning Commission November 18, 2025 Municipal Office 1 N Main St DRAFT MINUTES Members present: Chair- Danielle James Choiniere, Vice Chair- John Chesarek, Ashley Bowen 7:07pm meeting called to order. > Agenda adjustments: None > Approval of minutes: September minutes tabled, no quorum for that set. Ashley Bowen motioned to approve October 21 minutes. John Chesarek seconded, all in favor. So approved. > Public comment: None > Old business: - Subcommittees: nothing to report. - Grants: The Vermont Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation (FPR) is accepting pre-applications for the 2026 Recreational Trails Program and Alburgh is a town currently underserved by the grant. $50,000 is the maximum award with 20% matching funds. The Planning Commission got selectboard approval to apply for this pre-application to help mark and sign current trails, and help with developing trails on the town's Industrial Park lands. The Planning Commission worked as group to fill out the required pre-application forms. John asked, since the grant is about reimbursement, to get with the town treasurer to find what budget lines this grant would pull from before reimbursements. Danielle will ask. -Signage: Ashley designing a sign at East Alburgh lakeshore park to be about 22 1/2" by 33 1/2". We have another kiosk frame available for a future purpose like the trailhead in Industrial Park Rd. > Correspondence: Nothing. > Other business: Fall walk on the East Alburgh/McGregor happened on the 8th. Danielle asked about an idea to send letters to at least a couple vacant buildings in town to see what their goals were, introduce the PC members and their goals to help housing and businesses, and see if we may help in some way in knowing of available programs and incentives.
